Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is additional funding that is simple to apply for and is designed to help children of all abilities, from lower income families to meet their full potential and close the gap between them and their peers. Tannery Drift First School adopts a number of strategies and activities to improve attainment and progress of disadvantaged children. These include employing our own Family Support Worker, art therapy and raising aspirations through our curriculum and visitors to school. Enjoyment, achievement and respect are at the core of our approach to raising attainment and giving all our children an excellent early education. We find the pupil premium a valuable resource for those pupils that are eligible.
If you are in receipt of any of the following: Universal Credit, Income Support, Income Based Jobseeker's Allowance, Child Tax Credit (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190), Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit element), Working Tax Credit run-on, support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, Income Related Employment Support Allowance your child may qualify for additional funding which we can use to provide opportunities for your child such as additional classroom support, sport coaching, music tuition, uniform assistance, assistance with school trips, IT access, and free stay and play sessions at breakfast club.
