Penguins

Welcome to Penguin Class! We are a Year 3 class. Our class teacher is Mrs Jarvis and our teaching assistants are Mrs Leggett and Miss Clark.

In Penguin class we have lots of responsibilities: to keep our classroom tidy, help the adults and other children.

In Penguin Class, we all have a growth mindset; this means that we always try our hardest and try to improve our work. If we don’t understand a concept we use various strategies to help us understand how to do it. We never give up and say, ‘I can’ rather than, ‘I can’t’.

In English we will be exploring various different text types including fables, adventure stories and reports. We will also develop our sentence structure and complexity using grammar to become accomplished authors. In Maths we will be solving difficult problems using our knowledge of place value, formal written methods and our evolving times table understanding to become the best mathematicians we can. We also have an exciting topic each term where we research and investigate different periods in history. We continue to develop our working scientifically skills and carry out a range of investigations in science over the year.

We have lots of opportunities to develop our creative skills.
