Open for Christmas Posting from 1st December!
The Christmas Fair is only one week away, and we have lots planned! There’ll be games stalls, including a lucky dip, elf on the shelf, human fruit machine, along with selling Christmas stock, books, crafts, and refreshments (mulled wine and hot chocolate will be ready to go!).
Entry into the raffle will close NEXT Thursday 27th. You will not be able to enter the draw after this day. Please make sure you fill in your details on all the ticket stubs you wish to purchase and return those with the correct cash in an envelope to the school office.
If you would like any additional booklets then you can get these from the office on a first come, first served basis.
Cake donations
We are asking Year 1 and 2 parents for cake/biscuit donations to be brought into the school office from Wednesday 26th, with homemade items in the morning of Friday 29th.
***Please ensure that the donations are nut free, which includes marzipan and almond***
Volunteers
If you are able to help, even if just for 30mins at set up or to run a games stall, ladle mulled wine into cups etc, then your help is really appreciated! Please let us know: friendsoftannerydriftschool@gmail.com
Tokens
We will be running a token system alongside card payments. Tokens can be used at all the games stalls as well as refreshments and to purchase stock. Tokens are valued at 50p each with a minimum of 10 tokens for £5.
To minimise queues on the day, there will be an opportunity to buy your tokens from outside the school office at drop off on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th (as well as at the Fair itself).

As part of Children in Need, children in Year Reception to Year 4 have absolutely loved taking part in ‘Bounce Beyond’ trampoline workshops.
Each child had their own trampette, and followed bounce choreography led by Laura, our incredibly energetic workshop leader.
Each session ended with a bounce disco, complete with disco lights!
On Wednesday 12th November, from 3.15 - 3.45pm, we would like to welcome parents of children in Years R-4 to join us for Open Classrooms. This is an informal opportunity to pop into school to see your child’s work and learning environment.
Parents of children in Nursery to Year 4 are also invited to our Art Gallery, which will be held in the hall on the same afternoon. The gallery will showcase some of the fantastic work that children have created during Arts Week.
We look forward to sharing some of this with you in an Arts Week special Noticeboard next Friday too!
We regret that we cannot extend the hours of the session to accommodate Afterschool Club attendees on this occasion.
On Friday 14th November, the school will welcome Bounce Beyond for an exciting day of trampoline workshops in support of Children in Need. Pupils from Reception to Year 4 will take part in energetic sessions using mini trampolines, combining fun and fitness while raising awareness for a great cause.
Children should come to school dressed in their PE kits and trainers ready to bounce and move. To celebrate the spirit of Children in Need, all pupils, including those in Nursery, are invited to wear something yellow or spotty to represent Pudsey Bear if they wish.
A Parent Pay link will be shared soon for anyone who would like to make a voluntary donation to support Children in Need. It promises to be a lively and memorable day for everyone involved.
We look forward to seeing you all when we return to school on Monday 3rd November.

On Thursday 2nd October it was National Poetry Day.
Children across all year groups enjoyed all sorts of poetry writing and reading activities in their classrooms, including poetry challenges.
As part of the day, Miss Baker, our English lead, arranged for us to join in with Simon Mole’s Gigantic Poetry Workshops!
This was a huge success and children really enjoyed getting involved in this virtual event.
Year 4 have been writing their very own graphic novels in English this term. The children planned, illustrated and wrote the novels, then made them into books complete with a front cover and blurb. They used the book of Arthur and the Golden Rope as their inspiration. Well-done Year 4!
